Business Development Group (BDG) was able to help us successfully change our entrenched organizational culture and to launch a new product on time and meet our quality and cost targets. This was achieved by transforming our organization, which was extremely autocratic and top down with very little worker participation. The organizational transformation was made more difficult because the previous leadership had launched another new product a few years before, and appeared to encourage workforce participation on the surface, but when all was said and done, they maintained their autocratic style of management. People in the plant were extremely skeptical of the any new approach and BDG assisted in building trust between the leadership of the plant and the workforce.

I have had the benefit and privilege of knowing Neil Simon for about ten years now. Yes, everyone I know thinks I’m friends with a famous playwright. I’m not. At least not THAT playwright. Rather, I know a Neil Simon who is a consummate business professional with a keen analytic insight and a relentless drive for perfection. Those are words that often are blithely sprinkled through testimonials like this, but, in this instance, they are acutely true.

In 2013, I was in the process of establishing a new organization, New Myth Works, and needed to create a business plan with clarity and strategic direction to help align my team and the candidates for the board of directors. Neil was referred to me by another small business owner who was in the start-up phase of her organization as a person who felt he would be helpful in creating my business plan.

Neil has provided me with mentoring and coaching services since 2012. As a new president of a non-profit sports organization with 11,000 members, I found it was a challenge for me to provide leadership and direction to a well-established organization. Although we were fiscally strong, we faced personality conflicts, lack of efficiency and effectiveness, and no growth in our membership numbers. Over the past five years Neil’s experience, wisdom, and encouragement has helped me provide direction and growth to our organization.

I was an early practitioner of Emergency Medicine before it was organized or recognized as a medical specialty. Neil Simon was an integral participant in the early organizational structure of emergency management in our County. Neil, in the early 1980s, helped design an emergency management continuum from pre-hospital care to the emergency departments in local hospitals. Neil’s role was to coordinate project activities between the County Office of Emergency Management, the local community college, and local hospitals. … I highly recommend Neil Simon as a knowledgeable, dedicated, persistent advocate for your particular organizational needs.

The Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) (now called The Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals) needed to transition from a volunteer managed organization to the creation of a full-time staff of professional association executives. To ensure the success of this transition, we needed professional help from an external consultant firm. Neil Simon, of Business Development Group (BDG), was contracted to assist in the planning and development of the organization’s growth, leadership and talent development. Additionally, Neil helped me develop the organization’s strategic evolution, new processes, and coached us to prepare for the growth transition.
